Um, can I move my ships in turn 0? In that case I would like to make an addition to my turn.

No, movment has to wait for turn 1 sorry, turn 0 is jsut establishing what youre empire already had before the nodes popped up.
So trying to move a ship before the nodes are there is kinda pointless.

Can I place units and move them in the same turn? I.e. can I move ships I bought in turn 0 in turn 1? Do I need the Ambush tech for secret moves, or is that combat-related only? Can I use the Advanced Sensor tech to detect other people's secret moves?

Units bought on turn 0 can be moved on turn 1 yes.
Units bought on turn 1 need to wait for turn 2 to be moved and so on.
Ambush is combat related, there shouldn't really be any secret moves in the game really.

-The Map will be redeployed soon. As Turn one starts, player locations will be broadcasted, secret moves will need to be PMed to me for record.

All right, here's a question on the defense stations... What makes them nasty? Or, more specifically for my case, would they carry the same number of fighters as my CL4? And if so, do they come with them automatically, or do I have to make them all, as with my mobile caps?

Defence Stations are as they say in the rules, basically station captial ships. The only thing that comes with free fighters is some captial ships if you have teh Fleet Balance Doctrine

How to claim a system: Post in your turn log: "*Empire name here* Claims *system*" You can start building in the system. Want to claim someone elses system? Go ahead. If they can't back the claim, their problem.

Is it possible to trade technologies? If so, is there a 'reverse engineering delay', ie. you still have to pay the time cost, if not the RP? Obviously you would need a free slot...

Mmm, I agree, if you've got a free slot, you can gift the tech avoiding the RP cost.
Though the turn time would remain.
I like this idea.

I hope you only mean if the tech you want to get has the same or lower RP cost than the one you are trading for it. Otherwise I'll just research Weapons and trade it for Ambush, saving 60% RP.
