My fault again, I should have specified only planets could be upgraded in turn 0.
No rules ever survive contact with the players D:

Is Abdiel allowed to declare an asteroid belt in his home system? That's a pretty big resource boost he just got...

Um, it's been there for some three days, and nobody protested.
I didn't get the boost because of the field btw, it's because I built a sh*tload of stations.

I'm on that.
If Ab could tell me where in the rules it gives the price cost/trait for having an asteroid field in your home system?
You'd think more people would have them if it were possible, just a slight mistake I think, like Jacob and the station upgrading.

Near the bottom, emphasis mine:
I don't think station upgrading is a mistake - either you buy a big one right away, or you save some money but take two turns to complete it. A fair tradeoff. Just as the asteroids damage, nebula sensor disabling, etc.

That's the only section where asteroids are mentioned.

Now that you have your Empires Traits, Techs and hopefully an idea of its history, it’s time to move onto buying your initial forces and facilities. Every player begins the game with:
5000 Production Points, to be spent how you want 1 Class 0 Planet (Unless you have the lucky ((Start with 2 Class 0)) or unlucky ((Start with no Class 0)) traits) to be your races Homeworld 0-3 Class U Planets (To act as fluff and description for your empire, as having a system with 1 planet is a little silly)[/quote]
Nothing about having anything else in your system.

The Asteroid belts in home systems are reduced to fluff. That was mistakenly left out of the rules. Entirely my fault for that portion =/

Yea, and where in the traits or buy section does it say you can buy an ateroidfield for your home system Ab? And by Jacobs msitake I meant upgrading stations on turn 0

No worries Ab, everyone makes mistakes, it was once again ours for not making the rules clearer.
Sorry about that!

Destruction testing by playing stuff is the best way to find these niggles, it's to be expected

Big thanks to you guys for playing through all the bugs for us then.

We are here to ensure a bug-free game! Unless, of course, a bug can benefit me and nobody else seems to know about it - then it's exploit time! ;D

And then Abs ships spontaniously combust, as the universe hates cheaters

Heh tell me about it... I am the only one who (voluntarily!) picked the "Half of your ships get destroyed at random, whenever the Admins want" trait.
